RTA launches a Regional Document Management Model website

Launch of the web portal containing all the documents of the Document Management and Archive Administration Model

The Transparency and Access to Information Network (RTA) launches a web portal containing all the documents of the Document Management and Archive Administration Model (MGD), product of the joint work of the European Union's EUROsociAL cooperation programme, within the framework of the RTA's archives project. The Organisation of American States (OAS) collaborated.

The Archives Project aims to create a common model that will serve as a reference for countries that need to create an effective document management system which respects the diversity of national and regional archiving policies. In addition, it presents a comprehensive vision of the different areas of document management in order to facilitate decision-making regarding the conservation and availability of document which considers, at all times, the life cycle of same.

Along these line, the main purpose of the implementation guides and guidelines that comprise the Document Management and Archive Management Model for the Transparency and Access to Information Network (RTA) is to make this a source of support and assistance for document and archive management by the different organisations and member countries of the network. In conformity with this, through the use of this model among the member countries of the network, archiving services will contribute to the implementation of transparency and access to public information laws.

This website attempts to make available to the community of interested parties all the documents that make up the Document Management Model, particularly to RTA member countries. Its administration will be handled by the Executive Secretariat of the RTA, chaired by the Chilean Transparency Council.
