Education

The right of citizens to education is associated with a society's level of social cohesion. In recent years, education laws and policy frameworks approved in the majority of Latin American countries have shown significant progress in education rights and inclusive public education. Nevertheless, challenges remain. While significant achievements have been made in primary education, achieving universal access and completion of secondary education represents one of the most important educational challenges facing the countries of the region. Secondary education is at the centre of all educational reforms, and of the agenda for discussion as a priority concern in the region.

In this thematic area, EUROsociAL is working on a series of critical points that persist in the schooling path of youth in secondary education: academic failure, early leaving and re-enrolment.
