EUROsociAL – RTA project experience exchange workshop in Uruguay
With the support of the European Union's EUROsociAL Programme, the Transparency and Access to Public Information Network (RTA) held its 10th International Meeting in the city of Punta del Este, Uruguay on 18th and 19th November
In this latest meeting, organised by Uruguay's Access to Public Information Unit, RTA members came together to discuss the right of access to public information and reflect on upcoming activities and projects.
Prior to this, the EUROsociAL–RTA project experience exchange workshop was held in order to make adjustments to projects under way related to: Archives, Political Parties, Indicators, Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms (ADR), among other areas. In the workshop, the different member countries had the opportunity to present their progress in these thematic areas. Seven of them presented major results achieved in implementation of the RTA 's Document and Archive Management Model (Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, Honduras, Mexico, and El Salvador); in addition, the Regional Indicators Model was presented with the first measurement data, which made it possible for the first time to obtain a regional baseline in transparency and information access. In the Transparency of Political Parties and ADR projects, the first steps have been taken for laying the groundwork for future work in each of the countries working on these subjects.
These activities, under the slogan "A commitment to dialogue and cooperation", once again underscore that work done in a network is a powerful mechanism for developing this public policy in the region.
This initiative is part of the EUROsociAL Transparency and Anti-corruption action, which is coordinated by FIIAPP with the CEDDET Foundation as its operational partner.
