Strategic partnerships

EUROsociAL II has further developed the establishment of strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to promote social cohesion. Among these Latin American strategic partnerships, we can highlight the relationships with the EU-LAC Foundation, the OCDE Development Centre and ECLAC.

“The EU-LAC Foundation (...) finds in EUROsociAL a partner and essential support, a complement to the agenda the Foundation pursues through its networks, and one which at the same time is called on to strengthen itself reciprocally with these. The cross-cutting nature of EUROsociAL's activities represents another aspect of commonality and one with the highest importance, as it is the aspect that responds to the demand that exists among its beneficiaries, all of them members of the Foundation. Both the Foundation and EUROsociAL orient their activities towards achieving results while simultaneously seeking to project themselves with intersectoral viewpoints of regional dimension".

Benita Ferrero, President of the EU-LAC Foundation

"The partnership between the OCDE Development Centre and EUROsociAL aims to respond to this growing need. While EUROsociAL builds bridges of collaboration between Europe and Latin America, making European experiences available with the objective of mutual learning in the area of social cohesion, the Development Centre (member of the EUROsociAL Orientation Committee) supports this learning through its analytical baggage on the region and its experience in the creation of spaces for public policy dialogue. The Centre, in constant contact with the demand of Latin America in the area of public policies, prepares an annual report entitled Latin American Economic Perspectives, in addition to numerous country studies that serve to fuel dialogue networks between the countries of the region".

Mario Pezzini, Director of the OCDE Development Centre

"ECLAC proposes the importance of institutions making efforts to reduce disparities and generate a sense of belonging to a collective social project, which involves making progress in social and fiscal compacts that ensure protection and social inclusion for citizens. For this reason, we particularly value the innovative nature of EUROsociAL and its capacity to generate changes that favour the institutional strengthening of governments. The quality of the institutions is as important as the quality of the policies for generating social cohesion and inclusive and pro-equality policies".

Alicia Bárcena, Executive Secretary of ECLAC
